Livin' Lozada Season Finale
So… I stumbled across the last two episodes of ‘Livin Lozada’ on OWN and… SPOILER ALERT – Evelyn’s eggs are on FLEEK. It’s really good news for women of a (cough) certain age.
It is definitely a deviation from Basketball Wives. In fact, instead of cursing, fighting, throwing bottles and jumping over tables Evelyn actually spends a lot of time crying. It’s not full blown boo-hooing, more like an internal cleansing when reflecting on mistakes of the past.
But don’t get it twisted - Evelyn is still a fiery Latina with quick wit and a sharp tongue. Even though if her daughter Shaniece had her way, she would eliminate her mom's ‘corny’ one-liners ASAP.
As someone who is extremely close with their mom, I also enjoy the mother-daughter camaraderie – especially when their talks involve TMI. Those are the best. When Shaniece has a serious question, Evelyn gives her honest opinion with no chaser.
Speaking of honest opinions and not trying to be all in your business, but Shaniece I think you need to really really really think about moving to London with Zat. And I say this because I sense some major hesitation… on.. your part.
As someone who has been engaged, moved in and played house and taken care of a man – I encourage you to enjoy your youth and let him come to you. If it’s meant to be – it will.
Back to Evelyn, I realize some people think she’s still harping on that dethroned football player she married, but in Evelyn’s defense – I say if a man gives you a permanent scar on your face – you are entitled to ‘milk’ it for as long as possible. No shade, just sayin’.
I also see this show as an outlet for Evelyn. A healthy way for her to finally close the door on several chapters of her life… for good. And based on Twitter comments, by sharing her story and her pain Evelyn is helping other women heal from their own scars. And that my friends should be applauded.
So will we be ‘Livin’ Lozada’ next season? While the verdict is still out I expect a season 2 renewal announcement in the very near future.
